Tips to be an Efficient Student
  • Maintain a consistent sleep schedule—it helps to schedule classes that start at the same time each morning.
  • Make a concerted effort to eat healthy throughout the day.
  • Show up to class ready to take notes and familiarize yourself with the day's material before class.
  • Do not miss class. When class time is missed you are only giving yourself more studying to do when exam time comes.
  • Engage yourself in the class' material and try to learn it during class.
  • If you miss a concept, make note to revisit the point or raise a question to the professor.
  • During exam preparation, start by studying your notes. Next to polish up your knowledge, read the text pertaining to information gone over in class.
  • Give yourself breaks. Studying is most effective when breaks are taken instead of devoting one large chunk of time to learning a large portion.
  • Choose study hours wisely. Information is best retained when studying if shortly followed by sleep.
  • If possible, allot a period of time before your exam to going over the study material again.
