Tips for Online Students

A Few Things I Have Learned From A Dozen Online Courses

  • Don't overload your schedule
  • Choose your courses wisely
  • Understand your computer software requirements
  • Stay on top of due dates
  • DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!
  • Stay organized
  • Create a time/environment conducive to studying and learning
  • If the course is for 3 credit hours, plan on triple that for work and study time
  • Don't wait until the last minute to submit work
  • Ask for help if needed
  • Use all resources for reference, study guides and tutoring available
  • Read all assignments carefully
  • Edit all assignments for content, grammar, and spelling errors

If you think that online classes are a breeze, take it from someone that knows, they are not! I spend more time and do more work for my online classes than I did in my traditional seated classes.
